eSIM Installation Guide
Connect to WiFi
Make sure you're connected to a stable WiFi network before installing your eSIM. This is required for the activation process.
Open Settings
On your iPhone, go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan.
Scan QR Code
Select "Use QR Code" and scan the QR code provided in the Norse Data app or your confirmation email.
Label Your eSIM
Give your eSIM a label like "Travel" or "Norse Data" to easily identify it in your settings.
Configure Data Settings
When prompted, set Norse Data as your data line. Keep your primary SIM for calls and texts if needed.
Enable Data Roaming
Go to Settings → Cellular → Norse Data → Enable Data Roaming. Your eSIM will activate when you arrive at your destination!

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan without using a physical SIM card. It's built into your device and can be programmed with different carrier profiles. This means you can add a travel data plan without removing your home SIM card.

Your data plan activates when you first connect to a supported network at your destination. The validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins from that first connection, not from the time of purchase. We recommend installing your eSIM before you travel.
Yes! Your device can use both your regular SIM (for calls and texts) and the Norse Data eSIM (for data) simultaneously. This is called Dual SIM functionality. You can configure which SIM to use for data in your device settings.
Yes! All Norse Data plans include hotspot/tethering at no extra cost. You can share your data connection with laptops, tablets, and other devices. Just enable Personal Hotspot in your device settings.
You can top up anytime through the Norse Data app. Your eSIM stays active, and you can add more data without needing to reinstall. You'll receive notifications at 80% and 95% usage so you're never caught off guard.
Unused eSIMs that haven't been installed can be refunded within 30 days. Once an eSIM is installed or data is used, it cannot be refunded. For refund requests, please contact our support team with your order reference.
We recommend turning off data roaming for your home carrier to avoid unexpected charges. You can keep your home SIM active for calls and texts while using Norse Data for internet. Go to Settings → Cellular → [Your Home Carrier] → Turn off Data Roaming.
Speed depends on local network coverage. Our eSIMs connect to premium carrier networks offering 4G LTE and 5G where available. Typical speeds range from 10-100+ Mbps, depending on location and network conditions.
Norse Data eSIMs are data-only plans. They don't include traditional voice calls or SMS. However, you can use apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom to make calls and send messages over data. Keep your home SIM active if you need to receive regular calls.
